On Thursday 2nd December 2021, the Rotary Club of East Coast Bays, in association with our Principal sponsor, North Shore Taxi, will be holding the 21st annual “Drive 4 Life” charity golf (Ambrose) tournament at Waitemata Golf Club in Devonport.

This is an invitation for you, your staff, clients and friends to participate and help raise funds for our major beneficiary Waitematā District Health Board’s Well Foundation and other minor beneficiaries within the local community.

The Well Foundation is committed to advancing healthcare for the people of the North Shore, one of their highest current priorities is upgrading the sensory modulation facilities at Waimarire, the North Shore Adult Community Mental Health Service.

13,811 people accessed Adult Mental Health Services in the Waitematā region in 2020, an increase of 59% since 2010, and this number is expected to grow. Sensory modulation is a therapy used to calm and support patients in their recovery. Patients can experience high levels of stress and emotional distress and this therapy uses senses such as sight, sound, smells, touch, taste and movement to help regulate emotional responses and provide specific skills to self soothe and function. It can be offered alongside medications and talking therapies and is a tool proven to have a positive impact on people accessing mental health. Funds raised by the “Drive for Life” will be used to provide the equipment and furniture required to upgrade the Low Stimulus Room and Quiet Suite for those whose sensory input needs to be restricted.

This is a fundraiser that the whole of the Rotary Club of East Coast Bays membership gets involved with and we look forward to you joining us for some fun, fellowship and fundraising.
