Refurbished Outdoor Area for North Shore Plunket Toy Library in Mairangi Bay

East Coast Bays Rotary helped The North Shore Plunket Toy Library in Mairangi Bay with a new Tuff Turf Multimat. The outdoor area at the Toy Library was covered by PVC mats that were starting to dissolve, leaving a blue dust that stuck to everything it came in contact with.  We were concerned that this material could be toxic. The PVC mats could not be uplifted just leaving concrete base, as the area is used by small children and would pose a safety risk.

The Club arranged a grant from The Rotary Foundation and the new matting was purchased from a local supplier.

Club members helped with the logistics of the installation and of course the grant that made it all possible. Several hundred families use the Toy Library so it's a great asset to the local community

The North Shore Plunket Toy Library is a non-profit charity organisation run by volunteers whose aim it is to provide a wide range of educational toys and puzzles, designed to aid the mental, physical and social development of pre-school children. The Toy Library gives families access to hundreds of good quality toys and helps parents with their budget and the environment, by borrowing, rather than purchasing. The Library is also a meeting place for parents to connect abnd feel they belong to something in their community.
